However, before you grab your hiking boots and maps, it’s important to plan your trip carefully. In this blog post, we’ll take you through a detailed itinerary to help you prepare for your Annapurna Base Camp trek.

Day 1: Kathmandu to Pokhara (827m)

Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara

Your journey starts with a drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara, one of Nepal’s most scenic towns. This seven-hour drive offers an opportunity to view the Nepalese countryside and lifestyle. The drive entails several stops for meals and visits to important cultural sites like Bandipur town and Tansen town in the Palpa District.

This marks the beginning of your trek. You’ll take a scenic drive to Nayapul, from here you’ll begin your trek. Today’s trek is relatively easy, and you’ll walk alongside the Bhurungdi river before crossing it to reach Tikhedhunga. The day’s journey takes around 4-5 hours.

Day 3: Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani (2,840m)

This day is the most challenging since you will begin the vertical climb on stairs to Ulleri with 3,500 stairs to climb. You’ll then trek through rhododendron forests to reach Ghorepani which offers stunning panoramic views of the Annapurna range. The trek takes around 6-7 hours to complete.

Day 4: Ghorepani to Poon Hill and Tadapani (2,630m)

It’s a one-hour hike to the summit, but the breathtaking views of the mountains like Dhaulagiri, Annapurna range, Machhapuchhre, and Nilgiri overwhelm every fatigue you might have. After admiring the view, return to Ghorepani for breakfast before trekking to Tadapani. This day’s trek takes around 6-7 hours.
