You will be picked up by our guide from Chhukung for your Island peak expedition. Today marks a crucial day dedicated to acclimatization as we trek from Chhukung to the Island Peak base camp. It’s important for our health to gradually adjust to the altitude, and health professionals advise staying active during this phase.

Therefore, we’ll engage in short climbs to higher altitudes before returning, aiding the acclimatization process. The path to the Island Peak Base Camp winds through moraines and rocky trails, offering stunning vistas along the way. Upon arrival, we’ll take a rest at our campsite where our skilled cooks will prepare all our meals.

02 DAY

Rest day at base camp and pre-climb training

The rest day at Island Peak base camp offers a vital opportunity for further acclimatization and essential pre-climb training led by our expert local climbing guide. With a focus on safety and preparedness, our climbing leader will impart fundamental climbing skills and demonstrate the proper usage of essential gear such as crampons, ascenders, descenders, harnesses, and ice axes.

Detailed instruction on navigating fixed ropes both up and down from the summit ensures that climbers are well-equipped for the challenges ahead. As we immerse ourselves in training and acclimatization, this day also serves as our second night spent at Base Camp.

03 DAY

Summit Island Peak and trek back to Chhukung

Today marks the most important day of our journey as we prepare to conquer the summit of Island Peak, standing proudly at 6189 meters above sea level. With proper preparations and favorable weather conditions, we begin our climb.

Traversing through a gully and veering towards the right, we navigate a rocky terrain before crossing a ridge, unveiling breathtaking panoramas of glaciers and crevices below.

At the summit, amidst awe-inspiring vistas, we take a break to celebrate of our achievement, capturing memories through fervent photography. Then, we begin our descent, retracing our steps back to Chhukung, where we’ll drop off you for your night stay.
