Island peak climbing with Everest base camp trek is a popular mountaineering and trekking program in Nepal. Ascending the Island Peak is comparatively easier than other expeditions in Nepal. The Island Peak is also known as Imja Tse. When seen from Dingboche, the peak looks like an island between a sea of ice. This is where the peak gets its name from. When compared to other peaks, Island peak is relatively difficult to climb. However, with the best people in the field and a bit of effort from your side, Imja Tse or Island Peak is conquerable.
Imja Tse was first climbed in 1956 by an expedition team that was preparing to climb the peak of peaks or Mount Everest. The summit of the Island or Imja Tse peak is a difficult climb across ice and snow. The top compensates climbers for their difficult journey with incomparable mountain views of Ama Dablam (6,856) and Makalu (8,481 m). The descent is comparatively easier and faster than the ascent.
The trek to Island Peak also walks us through the countryside, where we immerse ourselves in centuries-old Nepalese and Tibetan cultures. The journey offers some of the most striking scenery in the Khumbu via the enchanting village of Dingboche. Filled with Buddhist shrines, this village of stone charms our path to the mountain.
All accommodation during the trekking is in comfortable lodges. And we give the best-tented camp during the Island peak climbing period.

We recently embarked on the Island Peak climbing with the Everest Base Camp trek organized by Glorious Himalaya Trekking.
Our experienced guide, Nima, proved to be an experienced mountaineer with insightful knowledge about the peaks. Having summited 8000-meter mountains, he shared valuable expertise throughout the journey. Even more, our porter Suresh carried our belongings throughout the trek.
Our overall experience with this local tour company in Nepal was exceptional, blending both climbing and trekking seamlessly. We look forward to revisiting Nepal with this agency in the future.
