Gokyo Ri – Everest Base Camp trek

By Glorious Himalaya on December 13, 2019 in

I travelled late October with Glorious Himalaya Trekking to the mountains of the Himalaya. From the airport exit onwards I felt immediatly comfortable with my stay and guidance in Kathmandu. Ganesh, which communicates excellent via Whatsapp (don’t know how he responds so quickly :D) , explained me everything and we ran over the itinerary.

Flight to Lukla and hopping on the bus to Ramechap airport (only because of maintenance Kathmandu airport) was quite long and hectic, but you could always contact Ganesha if there was something wrong. I still arrived quite early in Lukla alive and well 🙂

Then the trekking started and I can summarize it in a few words. Magical, great views, amazing weather, bit sick, but my guide (Dak nam) was always there to assist me and give some information. Not a lot of comfort, but yeah what do you expect at 5000m? I actually thought it would be a lot worse.

He told me a lot about climate, fauna and flora, routes, mountains, personal life, etc… Please prepare for test at the end of trekking whereby you need to name all the mountains you have seen. I think I reached 16 🙂

All in all a great journey with Glorious Himalaya which I will really recommend to all my friends, family,…

Special thanks to Dak Nam who is always eager to learn about the English language and good luck with growing your kiwi’s at your home in the winter season.

Let’s meet again for another trek in this life or the next.

Mike
