Annapurna region is home to some of the most famous mountain peaks on the earth. Hence, it’s a given that Annapurna 1 and it is subsidiary peaks needn’t bow to any mountains, anywhere. Its needle-like, gothically drawn skyline is the kind that inspires adventurers globally.
The Annapurna sunrise trek is also popularly known as the ‘Ghorepani Poonhill’’ trek. It’s a treat early morning to view the stunning mountains from the master viewpoint of the entire region. The trip begins from Pokhara city and concludes at Poon Hill; this is an ideal trip for family & loved ones as it is short & sweet with not much altitude to climb. It’s a roughly 45-minute drive from Pokhara to Nayapul where our real thrills of adventure begin.
Our Annapurna sunrise trekking from Nayapul begins, we soon view lovely natural landscapes of immense beauty all along the way up to Poonhill. The trail has some great ups and downs on the way. Our hike goes through beautiful forests of oak, bamboo and rhododendron and many lovely colorful villages like Ulleri, Ghorepani and Poonhill. We get to view snowy mountain peaks which include two eight thousanders: Mt. Annapurna (8,091 m) and Mt. Dhaulagiri (8,167m).
Annapurna Sunrise Trek route is truly interesting & adventurous as we must climb up 3,000 steps in the village of Ulleri. It is a test of your physical abilities & energy levels. On reaching our final point-Poonhill, the views of sunrise creeping through the mountains leave you breathless & you never get tired of this natural experience, a gift from God. The maximum altitude of 3,210 meters makes the trip even more enjoyable due to the lower altitude levels.

At 6:30 am, you will be picked up by our guide from the hotel and then transferred to the bus station at Sorkhuttee. The drive could take roughly 7-8 hrs to reach Pokhara. We also have the option for a flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara at an additional charge for only 25 minutes. We then do an overnight at our hotel by the lake in the lovely ‘city of lakes’ on the BB Plan.
We begin our day with a hot breakfast at your hotel in Pokhara. Then take a short 1 hour drive to Nayapool.
We commence our Annapurna Sunrise Trek from Nayapul, accessible by tracing the path along the Modi River. En route, we’ll traverse a landscape adorned with local villages, welcoming teahouses, picturesque green rolling hills, flowing rivers, and encounters with friendly locals.
Further up, the enchanting village of Hile, your journey unfolds as you reach Tikhedhunga. The trail takes a steeper turn, ascending via a stone staircase after crossing a suspension bridge. The uphill walk is both challenging and rewarding, providing stunning panoramic views of the surrounding Himalayan landscape.
Ulleri, the destination of this trek, welcomes weary hikers with its serene atmosphere and breathtaking vistas, making the journey an unforgettable experience for those seeking adventure and immersion in the Himalayan wilderness.

Today, our Annapurna Sunrise Trek path leading from Ulleri to Banthanti meanders through enchanting rhododendron and oak woodlands. Following the Bhurungdi River, you will eventually reach Nange Thanti, experiencing the thrill of a day-long trek through the captivating jungle.
If you go on this trek in the springtime, you can get a chance to witness the varieties of blooming rhododendron flowers. You will trek through diverse landscapes, chances of wildlife sightings, and a panoramic display of snow-capped peaks. A brief jungle hike leads you to the picturesque Ghorepani, where you can relish the awe-inspiring views of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, and Annapurna.

After this awe-inspiring experience, trek down to Ghorepani for a well-deserved breakfast. The journey continues with a 2-hour downhill trek to Ulleri, showcasing charming landscapes. Concluding the trekking portion, a private jeep drive awaits, providing a comfortable and scenic transfer to the vibrant city of Pokhara, completing your trekking expedition with a mix of natural beauty and convenience.
Begin your day in Pokhara with a hearty breakfast at your hotel. Following this, proceed to the tourist bus park for a scenic 7-hour drive to Kathmandu. Enjoy the journey as you traverse diverse landscapes and immerse yourself in the picturesque views along the banks of the Marshyangdi and Trishuli rivers.
Upon reaching Kathmandu, you will be transferred to your hotel, where you can unwind and reflect on the experiences of your journey.
