Why Should You Trek to 15 Days Everest Base Camp Trek?

A 15-day Everest Base Camp Trek provides impressive adventure to the trekkers regardless of their fitness level if they have decent physical endurance. The extended day of 15 days will give the trekkers plenty of time to trek and acclimatize properly, giving them some preventive measures for altitude sickness. These acclimatization days are very suitable for beginners as the gradual ascent and descent teach how to trek high-altitude destinations properly.

Decently fit children can participate in this trekking package due to the extended trekking days. Beyond that, the 15-day trek gives trekkers ample time to explore all the major attractions of the EBC trek and immerse in the Sherpa culture. The EBC trek allows one to experience the stunning beauty and several different landscapes. It is not enjoyable enough when trekkers rush through it, so we recommend the 15-day EBC package.

Best Time to Visit

The primary trekking seasons in the Khumbu region are Spring (March–May) and Autumn (September–November). If you plan to travel during the blooming season, read our detailed overview on the Everest Base Camp Trek in Spring.

What Is the Everest Base Camp Trek Really Like?

The legendary Everest Base Camp (EBC) trek is not one continuous type of trail. The terrain changes a lot as you travel from the lower valleys to Namche Bazaar. Then it continues to change through Tengboche, Dingboche, Lobuche, and finally to Everest Base Camp. It is a mix of rocky terrain and stone steps through the forest, river, valleys and local settlements.

Rocky Sections

Much of the EBC trail consists of rocky and uneven mountain paths, particularly at higher elevations. You’ll walk over natural rocks, gravel, and rough stone surfaces. Some sections can be loose underfoot, so good trekking shoes with proper grip are important.

Stone Steps

There are many stone staircases and stepped sections, especially around villages and steep valley crossings. The famous trail between Namche Bazaar and the surrounding hills includes numerous uphill and downhill steps. At higher elevations, stone steps become less frequent, but rocky terrain continues.

Suspension Bridges

Suspension bridges are an iconic part of the Everest Base Camp trek. You cross several steel suspension bridges decorated with prayer flags, particularly along the Dudh Koshi River and near Sagarmatha National Park. The Hillary Bridge area near Namche is one of the most memorable crossings.

Forest

The lower sections of the trek pass through beautiful Himalayan forests, with pine, fir, rhododendron, and juniper trees. The forest is particularly noticeable between Lukla, Phakding, Monjo, and Namche Bazaar, gradually becoming thinner as you gain altitude.

Steep Climbs

The EBC trek includes plenty of steep uphill climbs, although the difficulty varies by day. One of the most noticeable climbs is the ascent toward Namche Bazaar. Later, the trail becomes more demanding around Dingboche, Thukla, Lobuche, and Gorak Shep because of both elevation and thinner air.

Exposed Sections

Some parts of the route traverse open mountainsides, ridgelines, and exposed trails with steep drops or valleys below. Hikers regularly use the main trekking route, which can make these sections feel dramatic. Trekking carefully and following your guide’s instructions is important.

Snow and Ice — Depending on the Season

Don’t expect that there is snow or ice anytime on the Everest Base Camp trail. Snow conditions vary considerably depending on the season, altitude, and current weather condition. Lower sections may be completely snow-free, while areas around Lobuche, Gorak Shep, and Everest Base Camp can experience snow and icy conditions, particularly during winter and after fresh snowfall.

The Everest Base Camp trail difficulty therefore comes from a combination of rocky terrain, stone steps, steep ascents, suspension bridges, high altitude, exposed sections, and possible snow or ice—rather than from technical climbing.

Flight at Lukla

Today is the most exciting day as you begin your real adventure journey. The walking distance from Lukla to Phakding is 8 KM/ 4.9 miles after landing in Lukla airport.

Mostly, the weather in the mountain regions is pleasant in the morning. Thus, your trekking guide will pick you up from the hotel early in the morning as the mountain flights are operating for the morning to ensure that you will be able to land at Lukla.

A 30-minute thrilling scenic flight to Lukla and a landing on a steep mountain runway bring us to the start of our trek at the village of Lukla [2,846m]. If weather permits during the flight, you will have breathtaking views of the snow-capped Himalayas from the windows of your twin-otter (small plane).

After landing at the small Lukla airport, take a short tea break and meet our porters (if porters are included in your package). Then, commence your trek with a gradual walk through the beautiful alpine forest along the Dudh Koshi River with distant views of Mount Khumbila from Cheplung village.

Along the way, you will also cross a suspension bridge that will add some thrill to your journey. This is your first day in the mountain region; stay overnight at a local tea house in Phakding at an altitude of 2,652 m. Have enough rest as you have to walk a long day tomorrow.

Please note: During the peak trekking months (March, April, May, September, October, and November), Lukla’s flights operate from Ramechhap airport instead of Kathmandu due to heavy air traffic at Kathmandu Airport.

It’s about a 5-6 hours drive from Kathmandu to Manthali/Ramechhap airport, depending on highway traffic. At this point, your guide will pick you up from your hotel at 1 am, drive to Ramechhap airport on a shared tourist vehicle, and take a 20-minute flight to Lukla.

We then take a steep hike to Namche Bazar. If the weather is clear, we get the first glimpse of Mt Everest.

Namche is the main trading village in the Khumbu and has a busy Saturday market – a meeting place for the Hindus and Buddhist traders from the lowlands and the Tibetan yak caravans that have crossed the glaciated Nangpa La.

We will visit the memorial park located at the top of the Namche Bazaar before hiking uphill to the Everest View Hotel. The park offers a splendid view of the mountains as well as the Lower Dudhkoshi Valley below Namche Bazaar. The most splendid scenery that you get from this park is the scenery of Mt. Amadablam and the sight of Thamserku, along with the sight of Kwangde.

After visiting the site, we will start our uphill hike to the Everest View Hotel. There is a museum that you can skip to accelerate your hike to the world’s highest situated hotel. We will begin our uphill hike after passing through the largest Mane Wheel at the top of Namche Bazaar. The trail is completely uphill through small bushes and grassy meadows. After walking for about an hour, we will reach the Syangboche Airport. There are small temporary marketplaces, and we will continue walking uphill to the hotel. Once we reach the top of the ridge, the trail starts to become Nepalese flat through grassy meadows. Relish the chance to witness Tengboche and the Himalayan scenery throughout our journey.

In our exploration, we will visit the local school and observe the village life of the Sherpa people. You can explore the Namche Bazaar in the evening. Our trek follows the gradual trail with a few ups and downs, overlooking a magnificent view of the great Himalayas.

The track then follows through the pine forests, and after we cross the prayer flags festooned bridge over Dudh Kosi River, we reach Phunki Tenga, a small settlement with a couple of teahouses and a small army post amidst the alpine woods.

After having a relaxed lunch at Phunki Tenga, we then had a tough climb steeply up through the pine forests before we reached Tengboche.

Good to know

How to Prepare for Everest Base Camp Trek?

Good preparation makes the Everest Base Camp Trek more comfortable and enjoyable. Build your walking stamina before the trek, as you will typically trek for several hours each day on uphill and downhill mountain trails. You don’t need technical climbing experience, but regular walking, hiking or cardio exercise can help you to prepare.

Acclimatization, hydration, nutrition, rest, and proper packing are equally important. Our itinerary includes acclimatization time in the Everest region; however, you should drink plenty of safe water, eat regular nutritious meals and sleep well. Pack light but bring appropriate clothing and trekking gear according to the season. See our detailed Everest Base Camp Trek Packing List for recommended equipment.

Luggage Storage in Kathmandu

You can leave extra luggage in Kathmandu’s hotel for free. This will let you enjoy your trek without carrying any unnecessary weight. Our team can also assist you on arranging luggage storage if required.

Lukla Flight Information

Lukla flights are an important part of the standard Everest Base Camp Trek. Tenzing-Hillary Airport in Lukla is located above 2800 meters  and it is the main gateway to the Everest region. The flights operate from Kathmandu or Ramechhap (Manthali) Airport depending on the season and the flow of tourists.

Mountain flights run mostly in the early morning when the weather is generally clear and stable. The flight is operated by small twin-otter aircraft carrying 15-18 passengers per flight. And the flight schedules can be changed because of weather conditions. Domestic airlines such as Tara Air, Sita Air, and Summit Air operate regular flights from Kathmandu or Ramechhap.

Our office team in Kathmandu arranges all your Lukla flights in advance and provides information about the airport departure and flight schedule prior to the trek.

Kathmandu to Lukla Flight

Flight to Lukla operate directly from Kathmandu airport during the off seasons. It takes 15–30 minutes drive from your hotel to Kathmandu airport, followed by a 30-minute flight to Lukla.

And these off season months are December, January, February in winter season and June, July, August in rainy season.

Ramechhap (Manthali) to Lukla Flight

During the peak trekking seasons Lukla flights are operates from Manthali airport in Ramechhap district. Due to the high demands of Lukla flights, it creates air traffic in Kathmandu airport. So, in order to take maximum flights within the short clear weather window the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) reroutes Lukla flights to Ramechhap.

Ramechhap is approximately a 4–5 hour drive from Kathmandu, while the flight from Ramechhap to Lukla is only about 12–15 minutes.

The main trekking seasons in the Everest region are March, April, May, September, October, and November.

Note: If the flow of tourist is lower in the Everest region, airlines operates direct flight from Kathmandu to Lukla even in the peak trekking months.

Lukla Flight Delays & Contingency Day

Lukla flights can be delayed or cancelled due to poor visibility or unfavorable weather conditions in Lukla. So, we recommend adding at least 1–2 extra days to your Everest Base Camp Trek itinerary to allow your unexpected flight disruptions and ensure a smoother home return.

Weight Limit in Lukla Flight

Lukla flight allows a total of 15 kgs of baggage including 5 kgs of handbag. But, if the weight exceeds, extra charges apply according to the airline’s rules. So, make sure you pack your things lightly keeping weights under the maximum allowance point. Each extra kgs weight is charged around 2 dollars. Please note that sometimes even if you are willing to make the extra payment, they might not allow you to bring more weight due to higher risks invited by overweight mountain flights.

Note: Before your trek, our team will help you organize your luggage according to the current flight and porter requirements.

Helicopter & Jeep Options

If your flight to Lukla is delayed or canceled due to uncertain weather, two alternative options are available to keep your trek on track. And our team can arrange the most suitable alternative based on your schedule and interests.

Helicopter Flight: A shared helicopter flight to Lukla can be arranged with other trekkers for comfort and a hassle-free flight. It usually costs an additional USD 500–600 per person, depending on availability and conditions.

Jeep Overland Drive: If you prefer a more budget-friendly option, you can travel by road from Kathmandu or Ramechhap toward Lukla. Please note that this option requires 2 extra days in your standard itinerary, as the drive to the trailhead near Lukla takes two days.

Accommodation During the Everest Base Camp Trek

During our 15 Days EBC trek, you will experience the level of accommodations from well-organized hotel to simple teahouse accommodations which includes total 14 nights of accommodations throughout the journey. You will stay 3 nights at a hotel in Kathmandu and 11 nights at teahouses in the mountain region.

Hotel accommodations in Kathmandu: You get twin or double occupancy accommodation at 3 star standard hotels in Kathmandu at Thamel area where you stay 2 nights before the trek and 1 night after the trek. Those hotel rooms have attached bathroom, WI-FI, AC, TV, Tea Table, Chair and space for your luggage store.

Start your morning with buffet breakfast served at hotel in Kathmandu. There are many bars, restaurants, ATM, shops in Thamel so that you can purchase trekking gears, withdraw cash from ATM and eat varieties of foods at local restaurants.

Teahouse Accommodations: It is popular in Nepal’s trekking regions. There are many teahouses along the Everest Base Camp trek trail from basic to luxury resorts. On this trek, you will spend 11 nights in standard teahouses where twin-sharing rooms with common toilets are provided throughout the trek.

Most rooms are simple and comfortable, usually with twin beds, mattresses, pillows, and blankets, while shared bathrooms are common, especially at higher elevations. Dining areas are generally heated in the evenings, providing a warm place to relax, eat, and meet fellow trekkers after a day on the trail. Our team selects good teahouses for you based on availability, cleanliness, location, and overall trekking conditions.

Attached toilet and bathroom facilities on the trek

Attached bathrooms and toilets are available at some teahouses along the Everest Base Camp route. In lower villages such as Lukla, Phakding, Namche Bazaar, Pheriche and Dingboche, you may find lodges with attached bathrooms, hot showers and more facilities. You can upgrade this service at an additional cost before the trek departure.

Meals on Everest Base Camp Trek

You can find a variety of meals on the Everest Base Camp Trek trail. Most teahouses serve Nepali, Indian, Tibetan, Chinese, and Western-style dishes. However, the food options become more limited as you trek higher toward Lobuche, Gorakshep, and Everest Base Camp.

Dal Bhat (rice, lentils, and curry) is one of the most popular meals among trekkers because it provides plenty of energy for a long day hike and you can also refill it as needed.

We will serve three meals each day on trek: breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Generally, hearty breakfast is served in the morning before the trek, followed by lunch along with hikes in between. And dinner is served in the evening after the hike. As a complimentary service, seasonal fresh fruits are provided every evening after dinner as desserts.

Some of the foods that are available at every teahouse’s menu in the Everest Base Camp trek trail are mentioned below.

Timetable Meal Common Food Options Meal Ordering Information
7:00 AM – 7:30 AM Breakfast Tibetan bread, porridge/oatmeal, pancakes, toast, eggs (fried, boiled, scrambled or omelette), chapati, muesli, cornflakes, tea or coffee Our guide takes your breakfast order the previous evening after dinner. This helps the teahouse prepare your meal on time without requiring an early wake-up to place your order.
11:30 AM – 1:00 PM Lunch Dal Bhat, vegetable curry, Sherpa stew, Thukpa, Momo, fried rice, noodles, pasta, macaroni, Chow Mein, potato dishes, chapati and seasonal vegetables Order lunch after reaching the teahouse following your morning hike.
6:00 PM – 7:00 PM Dinner Dal Bhat, vegetable curry, Sherpa stew, Thukpa, Momo, fried rice, noodles, pasta, macaroni, Chow Mein, potato dishes, chapati and seasonal vegetables Order dinner before 5:00 PM so the teahouse has enough time to prepare your meal and you can finish dinner on time before bedtime.

Snacks Bars for Instang Energy

You can also purchase snacks at teahouses along the EBC trail to boost your energy. Popular snacks options include nuts, energy bars, dried fruits, chocolates, biscuits, and other packaged snacks.

We recommend bringing some of your favorite energy snacks from Kathmandu before starting the trek, especially if you have specific dietary preferences.

Drinking Water on Everest Base Camp Trek

Safe drinking water is available throughout the Everest Base Camp route. There are several options for safe drinking water.

Tap or natural water sources: Tap or natural water sources are budget-friendly options available at many teahouses along the Everest Base Camp Trek. However, do not drink untreated tap, stream, or river water directly because it can cause serious health issues while trekking. Use water purification tablets, a filter, or another suitable treatment method before drinking.

Boiled Water: It is a popular and safer option which is available at every teahouse at an additional cost. We recommend our trekkers carry a reusable thermal water bottle or hydration bladder to refill it along the trek. Using a reusable bottle is also a more environmentally responsible choice. Teahouses charge between $2 and $4 per liter for boiled water, depending on the altitude.

Mineral Bottled Water: Mineral bottled water is also available at teahouses on the trek. If you are willing to pay high amount instead of compromising your health, mineral bottled water can be your preferred choice. The cost of 1 liter of mineral bottled water is between 3-6 dollars on the Everest trek trail.

Tips:

  • Drink plenty of fluids throughout the day because proper hydration is vital for preventing altitude sickness
  • Don’t drink untreated water such as tap or other water sources.

Recommended Foods & Drinks on the Everest Base Camp Trek

Foods: Freshly cooked meals are the most recommended foods for the Everest Base Camp Trek. Choose nutritious, carbohydrate-rich and easily digestible meals to maintain high energy levels throughout the journey. Dal Bhat is a complete combination of rice, lentil soup, pickle and vegetable curry. It is a traditional Nepali staple that remains a favorite among mountain trekkers. Additionally, potato dishes, eggs, Sherpa stew, momos, porridge, pasta and garlic soup are healthy food options to energize. For quick energy during the day hike, carry portable snacks such as nuts, dried or fresh fruits, energy bars and chocolates.

Drinks: Stay well hydrated throughout the trek by drinking plenty of safe, treated water and carrying a reusable water bottle or hydration system. The recommended drinks for the Everest Base Camp Trek are black tea, ginger tea, lemon tea, herbal tea and hot water that keep body warm in the cold mountain environment. Electrolyte drinks can also be useful during strenuous trekking days. Avoid relying heavily on alcohol and limit excessive caffeine, particularly as you ascend to higher elevations. At higher altitudes, use bottled, boiled or properly treated water to reduce the risk of waterborne illness.

Food Allergies & Dietary Requirements

If you have any food allergies or dietary requirements such as vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free or dairy-free foods, please inform us before the trek and remind our guide when ordering meals during the trek. We will do our best to arrange suitable foods although food choices are more limited in the mountain regions.

For serious food allergies, you should clearly tell us which ingredients you need to avoid and consider carrying suitable snacks or backup foods for the trek.

ATM, Cash & Laundry Service

ATMs: ATMs are available in Kathmandu, Lukla and Namche Bazaar during Everest Base Camp Trek. You should not rely entirely on ATM availability in the mountains. Network problems, power outages, technical issues, or insufficient cash can occasionally make withdrawals difficult in Lukla and Namche.

Every ATM in Nepal dispenses cash in Nepalese Rupees (NPR) only, so you won’t be able to withdraw US dollars or euros. If you need foreign currency, it’s best to bring it with you from home.

Cash: For this reason, we recommend carrying enough cash from Kathmandu to cover your extra expenses for the trek. Most of the teahouses accept payment in cash only.

Some teahouses and shops may accept card payments or use POS machines, but they charge an additional service or processing fee, which is up to 8%.

Laundry Service: It is available in Lukla, Phakding, Namche Bazaar and Dingboche. But it can be relatively expensive compared to Kathmandu. Most trekkers carry enough quick-drying clothes rather than relying on regular laundry services. The cost of laundry service in the mountain region is on a per-piece basis.

Tips:

  • ATM cash withdrawals are limited in Nepal, and foreign card fees can be quite high. Therefore, we recommend carrying enough Nepalese Rupees from Kathmandu for your trek.

Extra Budget & Currency

Even if you book the Everest Base Camp Trek on full-board services, you need some extra money for your personal expenses during the trek.

Extra Budget: Your daily spending depends on your personal habits. But you should budget approximately NPR 30,000 – 37,500 ($200 -250) for basic amenities such as Wi-Fi, battery charging, hot showers, snacks, and extra drinks. You should also keep some extra budget to tip your guide and porters at the end of the trek.

Currency: Nepalese Rupees (NPR) is the official currency of Nepal and most teahouses along the EBC trail accept payment in local currency only. While a few teahouses may take US Dollars or Euros but their exchange rates are usually much lower than the official rate. Therefore, it is best to carry local cash instead of foreign currency from Kathmandu.

You can easily change Dollars into Nepalese Rupees at money exchange shops near your hotel in Thamel, Kathmandu. If needed, our guide can also assist you with it after you arrive in Nepal

Charging, Hot Shower and Internet Facilities

All these facilities are available at teahouses along the Everest Base Camp Trek to make your journey more comfortable. Please note that these services are not included in our standard trek package. So any additional charges for using Wi-Fi, charging, hot showers, or other optional teahouse services which are beyond our package must be paid directly by you.

Battery Charging on the Everest Base Camp Trek

Charging facilities are reliable in most places on the Everest Base Camp Trek. Free charging may be available in Lukla, Phakding, and Namche Bazaar. Beyond Namche, electricity is primarily generated from solar power and generally they charge around USD 3–5 per device for charging service to cover system maintenance and manage heavy energy demand within the limited supply.

Tips:

  • Bring high capacity power bank to reduce charging costs.
  • Two or three-pin adaptors are very useful in Nepal to charge your device

Hot Shower

Hot showers are also available at most teahouses or lodges along the Everest Base Camp Trek route. At lower altitudes, many teahouses offer hot showers with running water from a tap up to Namche Bazaar. From Tengboche to Gorak Shep, hot shower service is getting limited and bucket showers are commonly available due to limited electricity and water-heating facilities at higher elevations.

It costs around USD 3–6 per shower, depending on the altitude and teahouse level. You can also upgrade from standard to luxury teahouse accommodations for more comfortable hot shower facilities along the EBC Trek route.

Internet on the EBC Trek

Internet service is also available at many stops along the Everest Base Camp Trek route, although connection speed varies according to the altitude and weather conditions. There are several options to use internet in the Everest region. Below are some popular options.

SIM card: You can purchase a local SIM card of NTC or NCEll in Kathmandu before the trek and use for phone call & internet data during the trek. Both companies’ SIM cards work well; however, NTC offers better coverage than Ncell. Internet data on both SIM cards works better up to Namche; after that, the signal gets weaker and speeds slow down.

WIFI: Along the route, most teahouses also offer Wi-Fi at an additional fee. Generally, they charge around USD 4–6 per device, depending on the location. The teahouses’ Wi-Fi works better up to Namche Bazaar thereafter, they don’t provide WIFI

Airlink Card: The Everest Link or Airlink card is another popular option for WI-FI access throughout the Everest region treks. Although it is relatively expensive, it provides convenient and reliable internet access along the Everest trail. If you want to stay in touch with family, it is more reliable in higher-altitude stops like Tengboche, Dingboche, Lobuche, and Gorakshep. An Airlink card costs between NPR 1,200 and 1,500 for 24 hours of data.

A Typical Day On The EBC Trek

A typical day on a trek begins with a freshly prepared breakfast at the teahouse.

After breakfast, between 6:30 and 7:30 am, you start trekking with your guide and group. Most days’ hikes involve around a 5–7 hours walk. However, some days can be shorter or considerably longer depending on the itinerary, altitude, terrain, and distance.

Lunch is normally taken at a teahouse between 12 and 1 PM along the trail. After lunch, trek continues toward your overnight destination and generally reaches it in the afternoon.

Once you reach the teahouse, you can take rest, enjoy hot drinks or charge your devices. Dinner is generally served between 6 and 7 pm. Also, you can socialize with fellow trekkers to exchange your experiences. Your guide gives a briefing about the next day’s plan after dinner.

We advise you to sleep on time after dinner, particularly at higher elevations, so your body gets enough time to recover and acclimatize.

Guides & Porters

All our Everest Base Camp Trek guides are certified by the Government of Nepal and have years of experience leading trekkers in the Himalayas. They are well-trained in mountain safety, first aid and altitude sickness. Our porters are well equipped and strong enough to carry belongings in the high altitude regions.

You will meet our guide in Kathmandu before the trek. Our guide takes care of your accommodations, meals and navigates the trails throughout the trek.
Our local porters are from the Everest region and you will meet them at Lukla Airport. They will take care of your belongings throughout the trek and allowing you to trek comfortably.

Porter Baggage Limit

Usually, a porter carries up to a total of 20 kgs which includes duffle bags of two trekkers which should not exceed 10 kgs each. It’s always a better choice not to carry heavier bags because at the end of the day, porters are also humans who have a certain capacity of physical endurance.

Trekking Safety and Acclimatization

Your safety is our priority while you are on Nepal vacation with us. To ensure a safe and comfortable journey to Everest Base Camp, we follow proper trekking safety procedures and maintain a steady but slow pace. Our every guide carries comprehensive medical and first-aid equipment to handle emergencies promptly, allowing our clients to enjoy their time in the Himalayas with complete peace of mind. Every day on the trek, our experienced local guides monitor your oxygen level, altitude symptoms and also provide information about the weather and trail conditions.

Our standard EBC itinerary includes necessary acclimatization days to adjust the body with the increasing altitude. Trekkers visit Hotel Everest View during acclimatization day at Namche and hike toward Nangkartshang Peak at Dingboche before continuing toward Everest Base Camp.

Emergency Evacuation

If any serious health issue occurs during the Everest Base Camp Trek, our guides will quickly assess the situation and coordinate the appropriate emergency response. Depending on the trekker’s condition and location, our guides can assist with a descent to a lower elevation, arrange local medical care or coordinate helicopter evacuation if necessary. Our Kathmandu office team maintains regular communication with the guides to ensure timely support in an emergency.

Temperature and Weather

During the Everest Base Camp Trek, you can experiences different weather conditions throughout the year. Spring and autumn seasons are generally mild to cool, with daytime temperatures around 5°C to 15°C at lower elevations and colder conditions above 4,000m. The weather is usually dry and offer clear mountain views.

Summer/Monsoon (June–August) is warmer at lower elevations, generally around 10°C to 20°C, but brings rain, clouds, and reduced mountain visibility. Winter (December–February) is the coldest season and daytime temperatures are often below 5 degree Celsius. And nightmare temperatures potentially dropping to -10°C to -25°C near Gorak Shep and Everest Base Camp.  Temperatures vary significantly with altitude, time of day, wind, and weather conditions.

Check the Everest Base Camp Trek temperature and weather in each season in the table.

Seasons Approx Daytime Temperature Approx Nighttime Temperature Weather Condition
Spring 10°C to 15°C -1°C to -10°C Clear mornings, good mountain visibility; occasional cloudy afternoons. –
Summer/ Monsoon 10°C to 20°C 2°C to -5°C Cloudy and wetter conditions; rain is more common at lower elevations, with cloud and reduced mountain visibility at higher elevations.
Autumn 5°C to 15°C -5°C to -20°C Generally dry and stable; clear skies and excellent mountain visibility, especially in October and November.
Winter 1°C to -10°C -10°C to -28°C Very cold and dry; freezing temperatures, possible snowfall, and strong winds at higher elevations.

Travel Insurance

Proper travel insurance is highly recommended for the Everest Base Camp Trek. The trek passes through high-altitude remote terrain where immediate medical treatment and ground transportation are not possible. Therefore, make sure your travel insurance covers trekking up to at least 5,600 meters, emergency medical treatment, helicopter evacuation and repatriation.

We also recommend adding trip cancellation, interruption and flight delays in your policy. Always read the insurance policy inclusions and exclusions carefully and confirm that altitude-related illness and emergency helicopter evacuation are covered.

15 Days Everest Base Camp Trek Cost

The Everest Base Camp Trek cost depends on the trek you want to experience. The average price for the luxurious EBC trek ranges from $3500 to $8000 per person. However, you will receive a group discount. In the average EBC luxury trek, the services are excellent, such as the lodges or five-star hotels with private rooms, gourmet chefs preparing meals, and the guides are highly trained with over ten years of experience.

If you plan to enjoy the average EBC trek experience, the cost will be less expensive than the luxury trek. The average price of the usual trek ranges from $1000 to $3000, where you get regular services like twin beds and hot showers, but they are not as expensive as the luxury trek.

You can also experience the budget-friendly trek of the EBC, which ranges from $800 to $1200, where you get average services. You will stay in the average teahouse or the budgeted hotel. You can hike independently; however, if you want to enjoy the trek safely, hiring local guides and porters is a must.

Difficulty Factors of EBC Trek

Although the Everest Base Camp Trek is among the easy treks in Nepal, certain factors can increase the difficulty of the EBC trek. Some factors of difficulty can increase based on the weather, season, etc, while other factors constantly challenge the trekkers regardless of the time. Here are some of the factors that influence the difficulty of the EBC trek.

High Altitude

High altitude is a common difficulty for trekkers in the Everest region. As you climb higher, significantly above 3,500 meters, the risk of altitude sickness increases. You will go above 5,000 meters on this trek, so altitude sickness is likely. Make sure to carry medications and descend if you experience any symptoms. Altitude sickness is also why you should trek with other people or a guide and not attempt it alone.

Harsh Terrains

The Everest Base Camp passes through different types of landscapes. From sub-tropical barren lands to lush green forests, rocky peaks, snowy mountains, and glacial moraines of the Khumbu glacier,  the trekkers will get different types of experience. However, such different terrains are also challenging to trek. The trails pass through ups and downs with steep ascents and descents each day.  So ensure you are physically fit to hike through these challenging terrains easily.

Long Trekking Distance and Duration

The duration of the EBC trek usually lasts between 10 and 15 days or even longer. Each day, you will trek for about 6 to 7 hours. This can be tough because it requires a lot of energy, and you will walk for a long time. It’s important to take breaks to help your body adjust to the higher altitude. Preparing well and staying strong during the trek is essential. Different trek packages to Everest vary in length, so you can choose shorter options if you don’t have much time. However, shorter treks allow less time for acclimatization.

How is the Weather at Everest Base Camp Trek?

The Everest Base Camp Trek weather has constantly changed throughout the years. However, the weather remains stable and ideal during the Best time for Everest Base Camp Trek, like Spring and Autumn. During these seasons, daytime temperatures are about 15 degrees, and nights can drop to -10 degrees.

However, if you decide to trek the EBC during winter, you must be prepared. The weather is dynamic and constantly changing throughout the trek, so you must be ready for sunny days, rainfall, snowfall, blistering winds, and snowstorms. The temperature reaches way below the freezing point, up to -20 degrees. So, if you don’t want to face the difficulty of changing weather, ensure you are trekking in the ideal seasons.

Permits Required to Reach Base Camp of Everest

Everest Base Camp Trek needs two permits to enter the Khumbu region. These two permits are the Sagarmatha National Park Entry Permit and Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality entry card. All required permits are included in our package. Hence, we arrange these permits for our trekkers before or during the trek, so you can focus on enjoying the journey through the Everest region.

Get further details about the Everest Base Camp Trek Permits through our blog post.

Is Everest Base Camp Beginner Friendly Trek?

Everest Base Camp is a strenuous trek, so it needs a lot of preparation beforehand. The Everest Base Camp trek is usually seen as moderate to challenging, but don’t let that scare you off. Most days involve 6-8 hours of walking, with some rest days, making it doable for people with moderate fitness.

The biggest challenge is the altitude, as Base Camp is 5,364 meters (17,594 feet). Altitude sickness can be a real issue, so most travel plans include acclimatization days to help your body adjust. Even the trekkers with less experience can easily trek the EBC trek with proper training, planning, and keeping a positive mindset throughout the trek.

The EBC trek can be completed successfully by children above ten and people below 70. Despite being one of the safest treks in Nepal, some incidents occur during the trek, which is unforeseen, which is why you always have to be careful and prepare for difficult situations.

If this is your first time trekking at high altitude, read our detailed guide on Everest Base Camp Trek for Beginners to help you prepare your fitness and training regime.

Everest Base Camp Trek is all about self-discovery

We leave behind the comforts of our hotel in Kathmandu & take a fairytale flight to Lukla. At Lukla, we meet up with our friendly trekking team & hit the trails. We hike by the banks of the Dudh Kosi River through welcoming pretty Sherpa villages. After crossing several airy swing bridges, we walk into the bustling capital of Namche Bazaar.

Our Everest base camp trek itinerary gives you enough time to acclimatize in this town. Namche sits within the Sagarmatha National Park, & is the capital of the Khumbu. Likewise, this is a natural spot to get familiar with the thin air at higher levels. Notwithstanding the great views in this area, we also visit the famous Tengboche monastery. This is the largest monastery in the region. There is so much we get to enjoy here. These mountains teach us a lot about life & ourselves.

Famous climbers use the trails we now walk by to summit Everest. Some made it, some did not. However, these same trails offer us so much unforgettable beauty. The trek is difficult, but many cozy teahouses on these trails offer good food. The warm beds shelter us from unkind weather.

We walk deep into the Khumbu, into forests of rhododendrons, birch trees & pine. On the way, we come across colorful villages where we enjoy a sincere welcome by the local Sherpa people. We finally arrived at base camp, which was the main reason for our trip. The next day, we climb to Kalapatthar at 5,545m for a stunning early sunrise. The views from here are mind-blowing, leaving us breathless for a while!

This is where our trip ends, as we head back to Kathmandu via Namche and to Lukla for our flight.

“Wonderful, rewarding, challenging, life experience”

We did the trek to EBC with our daughter and son-in-law in mid March. Our guide Rajan and two porters Guvan and his brother Deluve were the best. With their kind and helpful manners and their knowledge of the trek. They were all super encouraging and very positive. They were there for us every step of the way. We couldn’t have been in better hands.

Everything was planned out perfectly from the tea houses where we stayed to equipment needed for each days trek.
I would highly to Glorious Himalayas for anyone seeking to trek around Mt Everest.

“Could not have asked for a better experience”

We completed the 14 Day Everest Base Camp Trek with Glorious Himalaya in May 2025, and I could not have asked for a better experience.

Ganesh (the tour operator) was incredibly responsive and helpful from the very beginning. He promptly answered all our questions and ensured every detail of the trip was organized flawlessly.

Ganesh, our tour guide, was caring, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable. He thoroughly prepared us for each day, and prioritized our safety and well-being. His familiarity with the Everest region and his professionalism were evident throughout the entire trip, which contributed to a smooth and enriching experience.

This was a phenomenal trekking experience, leaving me with memories to last a lifetime. I would highly recommend Glorious Himalaya to anyone interested in such an experience.

“Bucket List Trip!”

Travelling from Canada as a family, we did the Everest Base Camp trek. We chose Glorious Himalaya because we wanted to book local companies and they had the best reviews. From the first email to Glorious Himalaya, Ganesh was responsive, explained everything and answered all my questions. He was easy to deal with.

Our guide Krishna was waiting for us at the airport, he was warm and welcoming and spoke good English. Everything went well during the trek, and when we wanted to change the itinerary, we Whatapp Ganesh and he easily made it happen. Krishna was very accommodating during the trek and went at my pace.

The porters were excellent, help us in the evenings and played cards with us, and showed us around each town.
We had a fantastic time with Glorious Himalaya and would choose them again when travelling to Nepal.

The entire trip was well-organized, transparent, and enjoyable. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a reliable and professional trek operator in Nepal.

“Everest Base Camp Trek”

The service provided by Glorious Himalaya Trekking was superb. From the moment I was collected at the airport, I was made to feel very welcome. During the trek, Keshab, our guide, was, at all times, incredibly courteous and helpful, ensuring that the needs of our group were met. In addition, our friendly and helpful porters always ensured our bags were waiting at our hotel at the end of each day.

This was my third trek with Ganesh and Glorious Himalaya Trekking and they have always provided high quality service.
I recommend Glorious Himalaya Trekking to anyone.

“EBC and Chola Pass Trek: Amazing Experience”

From the beginning to the end, the whole trip was well-organized. Ganesh, the company manager, customized the itinerary for us and replied quickly to all of our questions that we had before booking. Upon our arrival in Kathmandu, we were given detailed instructions on the trek, which added to our sense of security.

The real adventure started on the following day. We were booked on one of the popular early morning flights to Lukla (which are favorable due to weather conditions), another indication that Glorious Himalaya values customer service.

It didn’t take long for us to realize that our guide Ganesh was both very knowledgeable and patient when it came to answering questions that came up along the way.

Even more importantly, he made us feel perfectly safe throughout the trek, always warning us of potential dangers such as landslides, loose rocks, ice etc., finding new ways around obstacles and constantly making sure we felt fine. When one of us felt sick, Ganesh was not only very supportive, but he also adapted the itinerary in such a way that we could still complete the trek on time.

The lodges never disappointed us either. While their standards are, of course, not comparable to those found in major cities (something I’m sure any trekker is anyway aware of), there was always a variety of freshly prepared food available (including many vegetarian options), the beds were reasonably comfortable and Ganesh was committed to finding us the best rooms.

Our porter was also amazing. Despite his difficult job, he never failed to maintain a smile on his face and be polite. Above all, he and Ganesh worked together as a team in challenging situations, which was very relieving to us.

Hiring a porter is not mandatory, but we’re glad we did. The high altitude compromises the fitness level and we’re not sure we could have made it if we had to carry everything on our own.

To summarize, we can wholeheartedly recommend Glorious Himalaya and in particular our guide Ganesh to everyone seeking to make unforgettable memories in Nepal.

“Stunning EBC Trek with Expert Company”

I’m pleased to share my Everest base camp trek experience with an expert company in Nepal. It was my first visit to Nepal and everything was managed very well.
I embarked on this journey with my guide Ram and he assisted me throughout my difficult times. It was a worthy visit to Nepal. Their itinerary was well crafted and the provided tea house accommodations were fine. We trekked through Lukla, Phadking, Namche, Tengboche, Dingboche, Lobuche and then to Gorakshep – Everest base camp 5364 meters. My guide Ram always ensured my safety and checked everything properly before we left our hotel.

Even more, the weather was perfect during the trek. We had a fantastic sunrise view from Kalapather, one of the best moments of this journey.
Absolutely, I would like to recommend Glorious Himalaya Company for your Everest region trek and they can manage everything properly for your pleasant journey.

“Went on Everest with local operator”

I went on an Everest base camp hike with Glorious Himalaya’s local guide. I’m a solo traveler and wanted to visit Everest without the support of a guide and porter but after some research, I decided to take at least a local guide for safety and I booked this trek through this agency.

My guide Roshan was very polite and knowledgeable. I’m really impressed with the service of this company. Without any doubt, you can hire their guides and porters for your Everest journey.

“Group guided trip to Mt. Everest Base Camp”

We visited Everest base camp in April 2022 and explored the beauty of the majestic Everest region. With the support of local guides and porters, we were able to complete our Everest journey without any hassle.

Among our 14 Croatian friends, only 10 were able to reach the Everest base camp and the rest of 4 members returned to Kathmandu from Dingboche due to AMS.
However, it was one of the best treks in the world that offers magnificent views of the mountains including Lhotse, Makalu and Mt. Everest. Our main guide Buddhi was very attentive and experienced. An assistant guide Bishal was very helpful throughout the trek.

And all our 7 porters were lovely and strong enough to carry our stuff. We are very pleased to choose Glorious Himalaya for our EBC journey and we will again visit Nepal for the next Everest 3 high pass trek.

“Visited EBC in May 2022”

I visited Nepal in May 2022 and embarked on the EBC journey. And I must say it was an unforgettable experience. The natural beauty of the place took my breath away, from the vibrant Kathmandu city to the Everest base camp.

The locals in Nepal were incredibly welcoming, making me feel right at home. Their hospitality and warmth added a special touch to my trip. And I had the opportunity to savor some delicious local cuisine, particularly the MOMOs and Daal Bhat. Exploring the historical and cultural sites in Kathmandu was a fascinating experience through the region’s rich history and heritage. The well-preserved historical sites left a lasting impression on me.

The accommodations throughout the trek were comfortable, and the service was impeccable, ensuring that my stay was relaxing and stress-free. I can’t wait to return to Nepal and continue exploring its hidden gems and vibrant culture.

Last but not in the list, my trip to Nepal was a perfect blend of relaxation, adventure, and cultural immersion. I highly recommend Glorious Himalaya Company to fellow travelers seeking an enriching and memorable experience with a professional company.

“Wonderful EBC trekking with Glorious Himalaya!”

With the help of Glorious Himalaya and our great guide Buddhi, we hiked for the final two weeks of May. They looked after all of our needs from the moment we arrived in Kathmandu until the late-night flight back to the United States.

The hike was well-managed by our great guide Buddhi, who made modest adjustments along the way according to our preferences and needs.
His speed was ideal for our group, and as we ascended the trails, other teams occasionally passed us; however, we always managed to re-pass or catch up when they were unable to keep up.

All 10 of our team members finished the journey from Lukla to EBC, which is a clear indication of Buddhism’s methodical pace-setting and acclimatization procedures.
We are grateful to our guide Buddhi and manager Ganesh for a wonderful tour of Nepal. We wholeheartedly recommend Glorious Himalaya!

“A dream come true”

Being a backpacker, Everest Base Camp Trek was my dream trip and made it happen with the help of the Glorious Himalaya team. I just completed this journey from 2nd March to 15th March 2023 with my guide Suman.
I’m so thrilled to share my Everest trek review with the world. It was one of my best trips. I have visited more than 30 countries in the world but Nepal is on my top list among others. It is a lifetime journey that should not miss if you have a thrust of adventure.

I landed in Kathmandu at night time and the representative of Glorious Himalaya picked me up from the airport without any hassle. Then he dropped me at the hotel for a well rest.

And the next morning city guide Ramesh picked me up for the Kathmandu sightseeing tour where we visited 4 world heritage sites in Kathmandu that are Pashupatinath, Swyambunatha – monkey temple, Bouddhanath and Kathmandu durbar square. After the sightseeing tour, I met the Manager of this company Mr. Ganesh and my guide at the hotel. They gave some useful altitude prevention tips before the trek.

Early in the morning on 4th March picked up by my guide and flew to Lukla. After we landed at Lukla, the real adventure begins. We stay the first night at Phadking and then went through Namche, Tengboche, Dingboche, Lobuche and then to Everest Base Camp. In return, we also visited Kalapather viewpoint for the best Everest view.
Overall, it was one of the best trekking experiences in my life. Thank you to all the members of Glorious Himalaya Company for making my dream come true. And I will definitely contact you soon for my next Nepal trip.

“Everest Base Camp journey with local tour agency”

Our 15 Days Everest base camp trip including the Kathmandu sightseeing tour was organized by the Glorious Himalaya company and went through everything outstandingly. From the arrival to our departure from Nepal, company set up all the pre-arrangements and delivered their tough-notch service precisely.
Honestly, it was a dream of my wife and I wanted to fulfill her desire. Therefore, I certainly did research about this trek and booked with this company 8 months in advance.

We were escorted by highly knowledgeable, helpful, and reliable guides and porters. We did this trek in the month of April 2022. Both our guide and porter showed concern for our health and safety throughout the trek. Even more, the city tour guide did his excellent job for our Kathmandu sightseeing tour at all the heritage sites.
We started our daring journey from drive to Ramechhap and took a thrilling flight to Lukla, and we met our Porter Umesh at Lukla airport from where we began our EBC expedition. Thereafter, trekked through Namche, Tengboche, Dingboche, Lobuche, and then finally to Everest base camp. Our itinerary was well crafted by Ganesh, where we had 2 nights extra at Namche and Dingboche for better acclimatization.

On our 9th Day, we climbed Kalapather early in the morning for a sunrise view over the Everest. It was an astounding moment in our journey. If you are embarking on this journey, don’t miss Kalapather. It is really a worth visit.

Once again, thanks to the entire team of Glorious Himalaya for your profound service. We will surely visit your country again through your agency.

Good luck team.

“Epic Everest Base Camp Trek with Glorious Himalaya Trekking team”

We (couple) just returned home from Nepal after completing 14 days of Everest Base Camp Trek. Trekking to the base camp of Mount Everest was a great experience itself. It was on our bucket list for over 2 years and eventually, we did it.

We did this trek with the help of Glorious Himalaya Company and their provided guide and porter were knowledgeable, experienced and helpful. Heartily satisfied with their service. A comprehensive first-aid medical kit was carried by our guide Ram throughout the trek. Every day, our guide monetized our heart bits and oxygen levels by oximeter when we were above 3,000 meters altitudes. It was the additional service provided by this company that we were really impressed with.

During our 12 days journey (which started and ended in Kathmandu), we shared only happy moments and created abundant of memories in the great Himalayas. The view from Kalapather was spectacular; sunrise over the Mount Everest was a moment that will never forget. Teahouse’s accommodation on the trek was overwhelming and the foods were amazing.

We would like to suggest other travelers carry thick sleeping bags for your well rest night as the temperature might be below 0 degrees at night.
We do not hesitate to recommend Glorious Himalaya Company and its guides for your Everest base camp journey.

“A peace of heaven on earth”

Last November, I did the Everest base camp trek with the guide Shiva through this agency. It was my second trip to Nepal after Annapurna Base Camp Trek in 2017.
We started our journey at 2:30 am from Kathmandu to Manthali Airport by tourist van and we flew from Manthali to Lukla airport. We begin our trek from Lukla to Phakding then the next day we hiked to Namche Bazar where we stayed 2 nights for acclimatization. On our rest day at Namche, we hiked to Khumjung and Khunde villages for the day trip. Thereafter, we trekked via Tengboche, Dingboche, Lobuche, Gorakshep and Everest Base Camp. After visiting EBC, the next day we hiked up to Kalapather early in the morning. Kalapather was the highest point of our trek. The view from the vintage Kalapather viewpoint was astounding. It was one of the best moments of my life.

Once again, I would like to thank all the members of Glorious Himalaya who assisted me throughout my Nepal journey.

“Best company for Everest base camp trek”

In the month of April 2021, I did 12 days Everest base camp trek including Kalapather with my guide Roshan from Glorious Himalaya. I had such an amazing trip to the Everest base camp. The trip to Mount Everest base camp was worth it and the service provided by this company was impressive.

In the beginning, my guide Roshan picked me up from Hotel Thamel Park and transferred me to the Ramechap airport for the thrilling Lukla flight. After we landed at Lukla airport, took a short tea break and started our hike to Phakding.  Then after, we hiked through Namche, Tengboche, Dinghoche, and Lobuche, and then to Everest Base camp and back to Lukla accordingly.

I felt a bit cold at Lobuche and Gorakshep during the night due to the high elevation. Local teahouses accommodations provided by this agency were superb for night stays. Probably, the best place that I have spent in my entire trek was the dining hall at the teahouses. I use to spend hours of hours inside the dining room with my guide to avoid the cold of the mountains. My guide Roshan was very helpful and cheerful.

The most important day of this trek was the 9th day – the day that we hiked from Gorakshep to Kalapather for the unreal sunrise and mountain views. That was the moment that I cherished with my Everest base camp journey.

Overall, it was an amazing journey in my life. Thanks to the team of Glorious Himalaya who made it happen and my big plus goes to the guide Roshan who always supported me during my entire trek.

You guys are astounding and professional in your trekking field.

“A best Everest Base Camp Trek operator in Nepal”

We were lucky enough to choose Glorious Himalaya for our epic Everest Base Camp journey. We were very impressed with their management and great communication. We don’t hesitate to say – Glorious Himalaya is one of the best tour operators in Nepal for Everest Base Camp Trek. Because everything they provided during our EBC trek was phenomenal. Their guide, porters, local lodges’ accommodations, and the meals during the trek were perfectly organized. The vital part of the EBC trek is always Lukla’s flights and it went through as our plan. Make sure to go on this journey only in the best season with great visibility so that you don’t miss your Lukla flights.

With the incredible support of our guide Rabin and porters (Sitaram and Gopal), we successfully completed our journey without any trouble. Our guide Rabin’s bubbly and friendly personality always motivated us to push our level in each step to achieve our goal. They were so kind and hospitable as well.

The owner of this company – Mr. Ganesh provided us with sleeping bags for the trek which were of great quality and made our nights more pleasant. I found him a hard worker, not a boss because he ensured that everything went well with his clients and 24 hours in service through WhatsApp.

Our entire Everest base camp trip was fantastic, and we heartily suggest choosing to go on your walk with the Glorious Himalaya company.

“Absolutely amazing Everest Base Camp Trek”

We just completed Everest Base Camp Trek with Guide Dilman from Glorious Himalaya Company. It was our second trip to Nepal with the same company after last year’s Annapurna circuit trek.

The trail of Everest base camp was not crowded as we trekked in the December 2022, winter season. We can’t explain the beauty of the Everest region in words although it was cold but worth it for the trekkers.

The weather was in our favor during the 12-day EBC trek. We had stunning views of mountains and sunrise from Kalapather and the teahouses were almost empty due to the off-season. We stayed overnight at Diboche instead of Tengboche after Namche bazar. We spent 2 extra nights at Namche bazar and Dingboche for acclimatization. On this trek, we found a tricky and bit difficult day from Lobuche to Gorakshep due to its high altitude and long-distance hike.

We are thankful to GHT team and glad that we had the best guide throughout the trek. We are seasoned hikers that is why we carried our belongings ourselves.

Thank you, team, for the great support and we are considering doing a third trek in Nepal with you.
We wish you all the best.

“Perfect trip in Nepal”

We were a group of 6 friends from California and booked 12 days Everest Base Camp trek with the Glorious Himalaya Trekking team. We had booked hotel accommodations in Kathmandu by ourselves.

Honestly, our EBC trip was well organized by Glorious Himalaya. Our guide Ram and porters, Sabin, Dorje and Nima were very helpful, experienced, and trustworthy. Our 12 days trek was properly guided by our guide Ram and he provided lovely teahouses throughout the trek. The meals at teahouses were delicious. Most of the time, we ate Nepalese food such as Daalbhat, momo etc during the trekking.

Our friend Eva got altitude sickness at Namche Bazar and guide Ram gave her some medicine and she got well after two days of rest at Namche. Apart from this incident, everything was perfect throughout the trek. We had excellent weather at EBC and Kalapathar viewpoint.

Thank you so much. We will meet you again in near future.

“Incredible Everest base camp trek in December”

It was an awesome Everest base camp trek in the month of December with the Glorious Himalaya. It was a bit cold in the month of December but the views were crystal clear and the flow of tourists was low. We couldn’t imagine the sunrise view from the Kalapather that we had experienced on this trek. If you are going on this trip don’t miss it.

Due to our limited time, we spent only 2 nights in Namche bazaar for acclimatization. After Namche, we continued the hike to Base camp without acclimatizing in Dingboche. Normally, trekkers stay two nights at Dingboche for better acclimatization but we skipped it due to our short holiday time.

Our guide Siva was superb and porter Anis was superhuman. Even at the high altitude, he carried our belongings easily. Hats up to your hard work man. Through this review, we would like to suggest all the trekkers who are hiring guides and porters, please make them happy by giving some tips at the end of the trek in Lukla as they work very hard in the high altitudes to make your trip successful.

In the end, we would like to thank Ganesh, who managed our EBC trek including our flights, accommodations, meals, guide and porter.

Good luck team and will visit Nepal again with your agency.

“EBC – You must visit once in your lifetime”

Before we book this trip with Glorious Himalaya, we were in trouble choosing the best and most reliable local agency amongst the hundreds of tour companies in Nepal. And finally, we decided to go Everest base camp trek with this agency after we researched in many ways. Their instant response, reasonable price, a fair and ethical policy for looking after the porters and guides impressed us to book with them.

From the arrival to departure they managed all our hotel bookings, transfers and meals during our Nepal stay.

We had good times in the mountains during the trek. We did 12 days Everest base camp trek and 1 day sightseeing tour in Kathmandu. Our trekking guide Suman was exceptional and well-experienced. Though the weather was not clear at Kalapather however overall trip was great and well organized.  Thanks to our porters’ shiva, raju and dal. Without your support, it would not have been possible.

We are happy to recommend your agency to adventure seekers who are planning to visit Nepal for their holiday. Please go with this agency and we are sure you won’t be disappointed.

“Great time in the Himalayas”

“It was my first time in Nepal having the Himalayan experience. My husband and I were planning to spend our holiday in Nepal for a long time, and also it was my longtime dream to trek to Himalaya and be in the mountains. We then finally decided to venture for both Gokyo and Everest Base Camp which later turned into a lifetime experience for us. Having completed this trek successfully with the help of the Glorious Himalaya Team, we had luck with the weather and everything went as per the plan. Despite the cold weather and physical challenges, we made it with the help of porters and our guide Roshan. “Remarkable Everest Base Camp Trek with Glorious Himalaya team”

What a great adventure in Nepal with the Glorious Himalaya trekking team. I’m pleased to share my Everest Base Camp Trek experiences with you all here.

2 months in advance before I landed Nepal, I booked 12 Days of Everest base camp treks with this agency and they prepared all the things precisely. Though our flight to Lukla was delayed due to the bad weather which was beyond their control but the trek was awesome. My guide Bodhi was a very honest and professional guide. He knows very well how to deal with mountain altitudes. He took care of me throughout the trek.

And the most important fact is that Mr. Ganesh, owner of this company was in contact with me through WhatsApp even though I was in the mountain region and taking all the updates of my guide and mine which is the most important thing while you are traveling in the remote region.

At last, my trip to mount Everest base camp was a remarkable journey. I would like to thank to the entire team of GHT who assisted me throughout my Nepal stay.

“Best Everest Base Camp Tour Possible”

I found Glorious to be one of the most comprehensive companies when prepping you from the Everest base camp trek.

The package actually covers you from start to finish once you land in Kathmandu and fly out for there.

My guide Roshan made the effort to fulfil every single request that I have thrown to him, it’s not easy but he tries his best to ensure that I have the best experience possible and making this trip a dream come through, I’ll definitely look at glorious again If I am ever looking to do this again!

“Perfectly organized and exceptional staff”

We wanted to do a shortened Everest Base Camp trek with our family (two kids of 13 and 9 years). We choose Glorious Himalaya Agency without knowing them before. We were not disappointed, on contrary, but impressed. Everything worked on time and as planned. The staff was friendly and extremely professional and helpful. Exceptional porters and guides, too. Next trekking? Only with them!

“Lifetime experience that is etched in my memory forever and the hospitality and the services were equally great.”

We recently did 12 days Everest base camp trek through the Glorious Himalaya team. The views and scenery were amazing throughout the trek.

In the first part, we were stuck in Kathmandu for 2 days due to the foggy and windy weather. On the 3rd day, we succeeded to fly to Lukla from where our trek begins. We trek via Phakding – Namche Bazar – Tengboche – Dingboche – Gorakshep and then to Everest Base camp, which is the main destination of our trip. The final hike from Gorakshep to Kalapather was a bit difficult and exhausting but the views were magnificent once we reached the top – 5555 meters above sea level. Even more, were stunned by the sunrise views.

Overall, our trip was amazing and worth every penny.
In the end, we would like to thanks all the trekking staff of Glorious Himalaya. Due to their assistance, we were able to complete this trek without any difficulties. Hence, we strongly recommend GHT team for any kind of Nepal tour. They are a highly experienced, reliable, and trustworthy company in Nepal.

“GREAT EBC TREK !!!”

“I was on a trek on a group of 6 with Buddhi. He is a dynamic, energetic, and supportive guide. He always kept us motivated, continuously interacting with us on our health and conditions to make sure that we are coping well with the height. He was regularly asking if there are ways to make ourselves more comfortable. His abundance of experience as a trekking guide really made our trek easier. I highly recommend Buddhi and thank all the team members of Glorious for organizing the amazing experience we had on the EBC trek.”

“BEST AGENCY IN NEPAL. PERIOD !”

“Everest was phenomenal !!! Even if we did not had luck with the weather, we still enjoyed the trip. Bishal was the most fantastic guide in Nepal.

He wouldn’t leave my side even though I was hours behind the main party.

He even braved rafting the Trisuli River with us although he did mention he would NEVER go rafting again. (doesn’t like getting tossed around and overboard on our raft)”

“AMAZING COMPANY WITH EXCELLENT SERVICE AND FLEXIBILITY”

“Glorious Himalaya gave us a competitive package and excellent service right from the first contact over email. Ganesh, who runs the company is very punctual, proficient, welcoming and has an excellent team. His expertise and guidance on the EBC trek supported us to finalize this grand trek in a remarkably short time.

The guide (Buddhi), porters and all the combinations throughout our trek were great. Buddhi was very humble and even played football with my young boys. He made sure we are happy and comfortable. The hotels and lodges arranged by Ganesh/Buddhi throughout the whole trek (Namche Bazar, Tengboche, Lukla) were really comfortable, well placed, neat and tidy with the delicacy of meals and service.

I would highly recommend Glorious Himalaya for trekking in Nepal.”AMAZING COMPANY WITH EXCELLENT SERVICE AND FLEXIBILITY

“PERFECTLY ORGANIZED TRIP!!!”

“Wonderfully Organized Ganesh and His Team!!!
Everything was very professional and perfectly planned.
It felt like more of a journey than a trip.

Our Local Guide Dakman knew much more than the rest of the guides and explained to us everything that we saw while on the trek. It was interesting that he knew every hotel and lodge owner. We couldn’t have completed this trip without his knowledge, experience, and guidance was perfect. He was continually asking about our health and comfort for the 12 days. With the fantastic guidance and care of Dakman, our amazing group of 9 reached EBC with only minimal effects from the altitude.

In General, I considered our Guide, Porters and Company was very professional and well experienced, responsible and caring all the way.

Thank you to Glorious, Dakman and all the Porters for a remarkable trip!”

“Momentous Everest Base Camp Trek”

I have on this Nepal trip with Glorious Himalaya Trekking team twice. This season (May 2014), I did Everest base camp trek with my family (Father / Husband / Son / Daughter) and it was a brilliant trip for us with the assist of GHT member. From our arrival in Kathmandu airport to the departure dates, company members take all the responsibility very well and we really like their way of traditionally welcome to the guest by “Namastee”.

Guide of this company is very experienced, skilled, knowledgeable and have ability to handle the critical situations. During this trip my father had some food poison problem but he get well with in two days because of our Guide “Chandra” guidance. He knows very well about the food poison treatment which is one of the most important part of the Himalayan guide. And our porters Ram and Guru was very helpful and smiley faces and friendly as well. We had lots of memorable moments during this trip with my family.

Well, me and my family members do not have hesitation to recommend this trekking company for your adventure holidays to my friends, relatives and the adventure travelers. And I can’t wait to organize my next trip with this company in near future.

Thanks !

“Unforgettable EBC and Chola Pass Trek”

Ktm-Lukla-Gokyo-Kalapathar-Base Camp-Lukla-Ktm. I did the typical tourists up hits at the famous Mt. Everest Trek in Solokhumbhu. The trek was scheduled for 17 days but we completed the trek in 15, because of good weather. It was really fun and exhausting at the same time. The highlight was not the Base Camp but the Chola Pass. (Bhes, my Guide was right saying that Base Camp is not worth visiting and Chola is the best) Bhes is a very experienced guide and a very friendly person. He actually made this trip a unique experience not only in terms of sportive action but also in cultural exchange. Thank you very much for this experience.
